Dear Parents and Guardians,
My name is Kelsey De Witt, and I am the lead teacher of the school age group for this summer. I graduated from Cornerstone University this spring; I majored in Elementary Education and minored in Early Childhood. I have experience working with children ranging from preschool through fifth grade. While at Cornerstone, I have tutored a second grader at Potter's House, teacher assisted in a third grade classroom at Oriole Park Elementary, and tutored fifth graders at East Leonard Elementary. During my senior year, I had my Early Childhood Practicum at Grand Rapids Montessori in a preschool and kindergarten classroom, and student taught at NorthPointe Christian Elementary in a kindergarten classroom.
Over the past three summers I have worked at Maranatha. My first summer was spent working in the nursery room, and my second and third summers were with the first through third graders. I have loved my time there, but I am excited to start at Joyful Noise and work with the school age group. I grew up here in Grand Haven, so I am enthusiastic about planning fun outings downtown. In my spare time, I love being with friends and family. I have an older sister named Jennifer; Jennifer has cerebral palsy and autistic traits. While growing up, she has taught me the meaning of unconditional love, joy in every circumstance, and patience. I love my family dearly and would not trade them for the world.
In the upcoming months, I look forward to getting to know all of you and your children. I am passionate about incorporating learning while having fun as well as connecting with your child's interests and needs. I look forward to seeing you soon!
Sincerely,
Kelsey De Witt
